I drew this Freya without a face for a reason. If you are a woman interested in working with Freya, then you have her face. I picked up The Witch In Every Woman by Laurie Cabot at the library this week. It reinforces the inner knowledge that I know comes from Freya. Inside every woman is a goddess, and she knows the deep, magical secrets of womanhood.

Yesterday I went shopping at the local mall here in the heart of the midwest. Most of the women here are of German or Scandinavian descent, especially the older women who were out shopping in the middle of the day. Because of what I’ve started here with Freya I saw them all through new eyes. All women are Freya, whether or not they know it. Especially when clothes shopping. Age doesn’t matter, contrary to what the media would tell us. It’s up to us to take back our own ability to be glamorous and take back the attention from a couple of women who completely fit the stereotypical image of Freya and have been monopolizing the media the last few months. (I refuse to say their names even though it would probably get the blog more traffic.)

I’ll outline Freya’s first ingredient for being glamorous in my next blog entry.

Here are the specs: ACEO, 3.5 x 2.5 inches, collage on canvas paper. Background and heart my original design, drawn in Photoshop, printed with a laser printer, then adhered to the canvas with acrylic gel medium. Colored with acrylic paint, pastels and gold leaf pen. Finished with matte acrylic sealer. The word “heArt-a-day” is not on the actual piece.

You’re probably reading this because you have a problem, right? If you’re like me you spend a lot of mental time trying to figure out how to solve it. And, if you’re like me, it seems like the more you try to figure it out, the more dead ends you run into, and pretty soon you’re in a deep, depressing rut with no way out. You want to stop thinking about it, but you can’t. So here’s what you do instead.

Imagine that Freya is standing just beyond everything you know about the problem. I see her in my mind’s eye as gold light. Know that Freya knows what to do and has the answer, especially in the realms of romance, creativity, magick, women’s sexuality and personal empowerment. Every time you start to chew on the problem, think of Freya standing there instead. Trust that she will give you a solution…a solution you can’t see now, no matter how hard you try. You may have to do this over and over again throughout the day.

And then wait until the solution comes to you. That’s the hard part. We are trained, men and women alike, to go after things like hunters. Remember, though, that Freya is a goddess of attraction. Freya doesn’t go after things. She pulls them to her. It’s your job to wait and allow Freya to help you draw the solution into your reality.

Every time you give your problem to Freya you are attuning yourself to her and opening the channels of connection between you. You will become more like her, although she will always know things before you do. That’s why she is the goddess. Your own abilities to attract solutions will increase but the challenges will increase in complexity as well. By maintaining this practice and strengthening your connection, you and Freya will become partners and co-creators, riding high in her cat drawn wagon instead of stuck in a rut.

Well, I didn’t sell all of my art.

BUT…my traffic is skyrocketing on my various websites, partly due to getting some exposure on other websites two days in a row, and partly ??? It’s astonishing, really, and unexpected.

That and I managed to take a shot of some storm clouds that garnered me a spot on the coveted “Approver’s Choice” row on the Wunderground website. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to be a weather photographer. That was my first real try. So…something is definitely working.

AND…it just hit me as I am writing this. Freya is a weather goddess. *smacks forehead*

Yesterday’s blog entry was about my deciding to let Freya help me with the details of my life and not just keep her on an ivory altar. The “details” were specifically what I can do to bring in some money. I figured that meant that sometime today I would have to sit down and start writing a dialog with her so she could tell me what I needed to do first. My plan was to then pick out the good stuff from that dialog and share it with you.

As it turns out, I didn’t have to work that hard.

You may have noticed that I have another blog called The Artist and the Angels. I haven’t figured out in my own mind yet how deities and angels work together, exactly, but I know they do. One of my first intuitive experiences was that of sensing the celtic goddess Brigid and Archangel Michael as a couple. Pretty wild, huh? I thought so. Until a year late when I read about Doreen Virtue experiencing them the say way in her book “Archangels and Ascended Masters”.

Therefore, what I’m about to explain I believe was the work of both Freya and the angels.

On a whim I downloaded an online “report” called “Order Up!” by Vicky White. I saw it mentioned in a newsletter yesterday and scraped up the seven bucks to download it today. I had a really strong intuitive nudge to do so, which usually means it’s coming from all of my spirit guides.

The report is about using the Law of Attraction and I think I’ve mentioned how I believe Freya is a goddess intimately involved with that concept because she’s all about attraction. The report has a unique twist that I really like. I’ve read a lot about the Law of Attraction in the last few years, so to find something different and intriguing at this point was very good. I wasn’t going to post about it here until I’d tried it out to see if it worked but, again, I’m having a strong nudge to go ahead.

I’m not going to tell you the details because #1, I don’t have the copyright to do so, and #2, there is an affiliate program in which the referrer (in this case, me) gets 100% of the proceeds. I’m not a big fan of this kind of thing but, again…the Nudge. After all, the main thing Freya was going to help me with was income, right? To see what it’s about for yourself click on this link. In the meantime, using the methods she describes, this is my goal for today by the time I go to bed: To have bids on all of the art I have for sale on eBay. I’ve read a lot about whether it’s a good idea to let your wishes be known or to keep them private, and it seems to be about 50/50 for and against. If it’s mentioned in “Order Up!” I missed it so…here’s hoping it doesn’t work against me. At any rate, I will keep you posted as to my progress with “Order Up!”.

Or maybe the only time you need a goddess is when you want something very much but you’re pretty sure you can’t have it anyway. So you try working with a goddess as a last resort. But you’re not sure goddesses can really do anything for you, maybe they don’t even exist, but by golly, you really want whatever it is and you don’t know how else to get it.

Well…I’ve been thinking that deities are strictly for miracles and/or pipe dreams. And apparently, according to Freya Herself, I’m wrong.

See, I think my worries are mine to deal with. That I need to just pull myself up by my bootstraps – okay, make that Birkenstock straps – and do it myself. Because -looks around before whispering – I don’t think Freya (or anybody else for that matter) can really help me. Don’t get me wrong…I know she exists, at the very least as a kind of emotional energy that’s part of me and bigger than me and somehow connected to my own northern european ancestry and everything else in the universe. But I don’t think she can do anything to change my life in a big way. (I can hear some of you who know better laughing…I know I know…)

So there I was last night in the kitchen, by the microwave, deep in thought about how to generate an income and get past being a starving artist once and for all, when Freya nudged her way into my consciousness and said, “hey, what about me?” Our conversation in my head went like this:

Me: “No, this is my problem.”

Freya, laughing: “But that’s what I’m here for.”

Me: “No no…(at this point I’m struck by a mental picture of a golden goddess, glamorous beyond all reason, vibrating with so much power I become meaningless)…why would you care about this stuff?”

Freya, laughing again: “That’s what I do.”

Me, before I have time to stop myself: “You can’t help me. Not with my dreams. And not with stuff I really, really need right now.”

Freya, still laughing: “Then what are we doing here? What’s the blog for?”

Me: “Oh well…that’s different. Those rituals and visualizations and all…those are to help people get to know you and help them work on some problems slowly. People can get by just fine if they don’t do them. My making money is kind of life or death.”

Freya, eyebrow raised: “Okay, then I have a challenge for you and the other people reading this blog who feel the same way you do. I challenge you to let me help you with this problem that is life or death. Write about your progress in the blog. We’ll see if working with me does you any good. I want to get this idea of ‘magick’ and being a goddess as down to earth and real as possible.”

Honestly, I had to sleep on it. I feel compelled, however, to go forward. My intuition says so. I will let Freya in on the details of my life and see what she can do. Join me in this experiment, if you want. We’ll see what happens.
